Elbert County news in a hurry
Emergency management to test CodeRED
The Elbert County emergency management division will launch a test call of the emergency notification system, CodeRED, at 9 a.m. March 30. The call is expected to last a couple of minutes with an informational message with preparedness tips to the entire database in the CodeRED system. The system provides Elbert County officials the ability to quickly deliver messages to targeted areas or the entire county with free weather warnings if your home, work or school is in the storm’s path. The system delivers messages to your home, mobile device and email. For emergency notifications, register your email and mobile device on the county website at www.elbertcounty-co.gov; follow the link to the "CodeRED Community Notification Enrollment" page on the lower left side of the page. Contact the office of emergency management at (303) 805-6132 for help registering. Support on March 30 will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at (303) 805-6139 or (303) 805-6132.
