Four candidates were seeking three positions on the Elizabeth School District Board of Education.
Here are the results, according to figures posted by Elbert County at 9:10 p.m. on Election Night, Nov. 7.
Carol Hinds: 29.6 percent
Paul Benkendorf: 27.4 percent
Cary A. Karcher: 26.7 percent
Kevin Combest: 16.3 percent
Board Vice President Hinds is the only incumbent who sought re-election. Board President Deb Spenceley and Secretary Chris Richardson, who is also a county commissioner, did not pursue four more years on the five-member board.
The terms of school board Treasurer Dee Lindsey and Assistant Treasurer/Secretary Richard Smith do not expire until 2019.
The election was nonpartisan and the winners received four-year terms.
