The 1,100-acre Wild Pointe Ranch community, with its dedication
to near-zero energy efficiency, is the natural choice to host
Colorado's first Energy Freedom New Home Festival. The centerpiece
of the event will be one of the state's first homes built to Energy
Star 3.0 specifications. The model is also among the most energy
efficient homes on the entire 2011 Denver Parade of Homes Tour. The
model was built by Scott Moberg,
owner of G.J. Gardner Homes-Parker. Wild Pointe Ranches' Energy
Freedom New Home Festival will take place August 27 and 28 with
events and model home tours running from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. both
days. Admission is free and all the activities are open to the
public and Denver Parade of Homes visitors.
The Energy Freedom New Home Festival brings together top industry
experts in new home design and construction for discussions and
demonstrations on important Green topics such as the following:
Sustainable, Near-Zero Energy Home Building Techniques
The latest practices, technologies and products will be
demonstrated by leading industry professionals, including the
energy smart 6.27 kilowatt solar photovoltaic system from
ClearEnergy, Inc. and the latest Bosch geothermal heating and
cooling system, both installed in the model home.
Informal questions and answers, suggestions and tips from a local
Master Gardener on using native, droughtresistant landscaping to
enhance existing terrain.

One of Colorado's first Chevy Volts will be electrifying the Energy
Freedom New Home Festival event, compliments of Stevinson
Chevrolet, Lakewood. Come see it up close and personal!
Family Outdoor Fun
Open-air club car tours of the Wild Pointe Ranch property will be
ongoing throughout the event, allowing visitors to experience the
beauty and natural resources of the final phase of this 1,100-acre
community. A petting zoo, pony rides and exhibits from area 4-H
members are also part of the event.
Guests will be provided with guided tours of G.J. Gardner's
Craftsman-style home with over 3,000 square feet of finished living
space. The home is among the most sustainably constructed and
energy efficient on this year's Denver Parade of Homes tour. With
an ultra low HERS (Home Energy Rating System) index estimated in
the low 20's (typical homes have HERS from 70 up to 100), plus
remarkably Green furnishings by Linnore Gonzales of Décor and
The Energy Freedom New Home Festival's model home shows just how
beautiful saving energy and resources can be today.
The model home and surrounding community highlight how easy it is
to maintain an ecologically balanced lifestyle.
With the well-established K-12 Legacy Academy charter school, Wild
Pointe's Retail Marketplace, 14 miles of trails and five-acre home
sites, there is plenty of space to live and play with a world of
outdoor wonders within a short walk.
Wild Pointe residents can also keep horses on their property.
The Wild Pointe Ranch Energy Freedom New Home Festival and Model
Home tour is located at 33015 Legacy Ridge Street in Elizabeth -
just 15 minutes south of Parker. Visitors are welcome to tour G. J.
Gardner's model home daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with the special
Energy Freedom New Home Festival event taking place on August 27
& 28, also from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Energy Freedom event will
be a premier highlight of the 2011 Denver Parade of Homes.
