The 1,100-acre Wild Pointe Ranch community, with its dedication to near-zero energy efficiency, is the natural choice to host Colorado's first Energy Freedom New Home Festival. The centerpiece of the event will be one of the state's first homes built to Energy Star 3.0 specifications. The model is also among the most energy efficient homes on the entire 2011 Denver Parade of Homes Tour. The model was built by Scott Moberg,
owner of G.J. Gardner Homes-Parker. Wild Pointe Ranches' Energy Freedom New Home Festival will take place August 27 and 28 with events and model home tours running from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. Admission is free and all the activities are open to the public and Denver Parade of Homes visitors.
The Energy Freedom New Home Festival brings together top industry experts in new home design and construction for discussions and demonstrations on important Green topics such as the following:
Sustainable, Near-Zero Energy Home Building Techniques
The latest practices, technologies and products will be demonstrated by leading industry professionals, including the energy smart 6.27 kilowatt solar photovoltaic system from ClearEnergy, Inc. and the latest Bosch geothermal heating and cooling system, both installed in the model home.
Informal questions and answers, suggestions and tips from a local Master Gardener on using native, droughtresistant landscaping to enhance existing terrain.

Family Outdoor Fun
Open-air club car tours of the Wild Pointe Ranch property will be ongoing throughout the event, allowing visitors to experience the beauty and natural resources of the final phase of this 1,100-acre community. A petting zoo, pony rides and exhibits from area 4-H members are also part of the event.
Guests will be provided with guided tours of G.J. Gardner's Craftsman-style home with over 3,000 square feet of finished living space. The home is among the most sustainably constructed and energy efficient on this year's Denver Parade of Homes tour. With an ultra low HERS (Home Energy Rating System) index estimated in the low 20's (typical homes have HERS from 70 up to 100), plus remarkably Green furnishings by Linnore Gonzales of Décor and You.
The Energy Freedom New Home Festival's model home shows just how beautiful saving energy and resources can be today.
The model home and surrounding community highlight how easy it is to maintain an ecologically balanced lifestyle.
With the well-established K-12 Legacy Academy charter school, Wild Pointe's Retail Marketplace, 14 miles of trails and five-acre home sites, there is plenty of space to live and play with a world of outdoor wonders within a short walk.
Wild Pointe residents can also keep horses on their property.
The Wild Pointe Ranch Energy Freedom New Home Festival and Model Home tour is located at 33015 Legacy Ridge Street in Elizabeth - just 15 minutes south of Parker. Visitors are welcome to tour G. J. Gardner's model home daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with the special Energy Freedom New Home Festival event taking place on August 27 & 28, also from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Energy Freedom event will be a premier highlight of the 2011 Denver Parade of Homes.
