Special to the News

At 3:08 p.m. the Feb. 1 Elbert Creekside 4-H meeting was called to order by Club Vice President Conrad Rohleder.

The members said the Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H pledge. Next, Colten Rohleder took the attendance and read the secretary’s report for club Secretary, McKenna Henderson since she was absent.

Club Treasurer Colten Rohleder then read the treasurer’s report. Chase Atkinson did not receive his birthday card, because he was absent, but others who had not been at previous meetings did receive birthday cards.

There were numerous announcements about upcoming events. Elbert Creekside will be hosting and leading the Feb. 26 Cloverbud meeting in Kiowa. We will teach the Cloverbuds about cake decorating.

Leader Ben Duke handed out all of the books and project materials. He also discussed the Country of Origin Labeling (COOL) requirements. The meeting was adjourned at 3:43 p.m.

Following the business meeting, there was a presentation done by Caitlyn Brown. Caitlyn did her presentation on fainting goats and how she raises her goats.

After the meeting, the Club made Valentine’s cards to send to The Children’s Hospital in Denver.

Everyone is excited and getting ready for craziness and all the fun of 4-H in 2009.

The next meeting will be at 3 p.m. March 1. It will be at the Elbert Christian Church.

Best of luck to all 4-Hers and their families.
