As justice continues to be served in Elbert County at the new courthouse in Kiowa, many cases have reached deposition and final plea since May 18. Each case was investigated by the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office.

Larry Tutor pleaded guilty to charges of incest, which has a possible punishment of two years to life in the Department of Corrections. He also pleaded guilty to the possession of stolen property, over $200,000, with a possible sentencing ranging from four to 12 years in the Department of Corrections.

Tutor is scheduled to appear in court for sentencing at 2 p.m. on July 20 at the Elbert County Court House in Kiowa.

Shawn Lenard pleaded guilty to a possession of a schedule II controlled substance, methamphetamine, and was sentenced to community corrections under the Department of Corrections.

Dustin Hart pleaded guilty to identity theft and was sentenced to three years of probation, 90 days in jail and is required to undergo drug and alcohol treatment. Hart must also perform 80 hours of community service.

Eriberto Casillas, Arturo Murillo-Casillas, Saul Coronado and Eduardo Cadena-Estrada all pleaded guilty to forgery. The defendants had previously served 90 days in jail and now have been turned over to the Immigrations and Customs Enforcement for deportation to Mexico.

The crimes the defendants were charged with were associated with attempting to illegally obtain Colorado Department of Motor Vehicle licenses and registrations at the Elbert County Clerk and Recorder Department by utilizing forged documentation and information.
