Elbert County Library District elects officers

The Elbert County Library District board of trustees elected officers during its annual meeting March 24. Members of the board assumed the following positions during the meeting:

Fred Beisser, of northwest Elbert County, was elected board president; he was formerly a trustee at large;

Nancy Orth, of Kiowa, was elected vice president; she was formerly president of the board for two years, the maximum term according to the district’s by-laws;

Bob Hughes, of Elizabeth, will serve a second year as secretary; and

Kirsten King, of Elbert, will also serve a second year treasurer of the board.

Beisser said the district is looking for the right candidate to fill the remaining trustee position recently vacated by Jeff Lehman. Elbert County residents interested in being considered as candidates for the trustee position and who wish to help a dynamic team further improve library services to the communities in Elbert County are encouraged to contact district director Kari Baumann, or Beisser via the district office at 303-646-3792.s
