The Elbert Creekside 4-H Christmas meeting was called to order
at 3:15 p.m. on Dec. 6 by club president Colten Rohleder. Following
the pledges, Travis Cayou, club secretary, took the attendance. He
did not have a current secretary’s report. McKenna Henderson, the
Treasurer, gave the whole club her treasurer’s report, followed by
the youth council report given by Kort Henderson.
Kort informed the club that the youth council has decided to
cancel a few of the pins for Pride Awards, because of the budget.
The club filled gift bags for the Elbert area senior citizens and
also sang “Happy Birthday” to our December babies in the club,
Caleb Brown, Anna Fisher, Tawni Strachan, Aubri Strachan and Kodi
Henderson. The club also sang to those of us who had November
birthdays and couldn’t make it to the previous meeting.
As a reminder, the deadline for 4-H re-enrollment is January
1.
The National Western Stock Show is January 9-24. The Henderson
family will be showing a number of animals at the National
Western.
There is a Goat Leaders’ meeting at 6 p.m. on Jan. 13 in the Ag
Building. New Family Orientation is at 7 p.m. on Jan. 13 at the Ag
Building. There is also a Cloverbud Meeting at 6 p.m. on Jan. 28 at
the Ag Building as well.
The Creekside 4-H Club will be coordinating a Cloverbud Cake
Decorating Meeting at 6 p.m. on Feb. 25 at the Ag Building in
Kiowa. Ben Duke, the club’s main leader, asked for volunteers to
help that night. Additional details will be given at the January
meeting. New Member Enrollments are due Jan. 30.
Following the regular business meeting, presentations were done
by Chase Atkinson, Isabella Boleng, Tawni Strachan, and Travis
Cayou. Chase did his on Roping, Isabella on Poodles, Tawni on the
Stress Gene in Swine, and Travis on Showing a Goat. The meeting was
adjourned at 3:45 p.m.
Our next meeting will be at 3 p.m. on Jan. 3 It will be held at
the Elbert Christian Church.
