Fitness center to focus on lifestyle changes

By the end of summer, Elizabeth residents will welcome a new community health club and fitness center.

But before then, residents can meet the owners and trainers of Stayin Fit and Lovin It! with Jenny Lewis at a free launch party from 4-7 p.m. April 26 at Gymnastics Etc., 34987 County Road 13.

Lewis is the passion behind the new gym that will be next to Gymnastics Etc. She is a certified personal trainer and a retired professional wrestler.

She also competes nationally in figure and fitness competitions. Fitness had always been a passion of hers and she works hard to not only reach her clients’ goals, but to push them to the next level.

“My goal is transform lives and teach people that what they want to do is attainable and maintainable,” she said. “It’s not just about the outside appearance, it’s about being healthy.”

Her fitness center will not only provide state-of-the-art exercise equipment and 24-hour access, but also personal training sessions, group training sessions and group classes including kickboxing, yoga, sculpt and tone, and Pilates.

Paul Devy is working with Lewis in developing the center. He has worked in the fitness industry for 14 years. He has lived in Elizabeth for nine years and says there is something unique about Lewis, and that she has a way about her that is encouraging to clients rather than intimidating.

“Jenny knows how to make people feel comfortable and help people reach their goals,” he said. “That is why it is called ‘Stayin Fit and Lovin It!’ because we want people to maintain their goals and love it.”

Not only will the launch party allow people to meet Lewis and the other trainers, but one lucky person will have a chance for six months free. Lewis said she will offer a raffle for a free six months in her program and the first 250 people to sign up for a membership will pay no enrollment fees when the fitness center opens at the end of August.

Lewis and Davy agree two of their main goals for the center is making it family and community oriented and affordable. Davy said he hopes all members of families can enjoy the center at the same time.

“Kids can practice gymnastics at Gymnastics Etc. while the parents work out,” he said.

Once the gym opens the price will be $19 a month and members will have a month-to-month contract.

Lewis said she hopes with her professional trainers working at her gym will be set apart from the two other 24 Hour Fitness centers.

“I think my niche is my staff of great trainers and the focus of maintaining a healthy lifestyle,” she said. “I don’t just want to get people in and take their money. I want to change their lives.”

For more information on the launch party, call Davy at 303-601-9432.
