Kiowa celebrates life of teen

As green and yellow balloons floated into the sky, family and friends remembered and honored the loved one who lost her life a year ago.

On May 20, 2008 Mickie Kraft’s life was taken in a car accident. Exactly one year later on May 20 the Kiowa schools and community released balloons and said a prayer in remembrance of the teenager on the Kiowa High School football field.

Kraft would have been graduating from Kiowa High School this year alongside her fellow classmates, many of whom she had grown up with since kindergarten.
