Landmark Lectures at the Highlands Ranch Mansion, 9950 E Gateway Drive, offer visitors a unique window into the past and an opportunity to learn from area experts. On Nov. 17, Brown Palace Hotel historian Debra Faulkner will share stories of the “Ladies of the Brown Palace.”
While many people are familiar with Denver’s iconic Brown Palace Hotel, they may not know about the celebrated female visitors, residents and employees that are a part of its history. Their stories of scandal, romance, humor, and leadership offer a glimpse into the lives of women from all walks of life.
“This program should be fascinating for anyone just looking for a good story — including both the general public and women’s history buffs,” said Susie Appleby, the mansion’s historic programs and volunteer coordinator.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for self-guided tours of the Highlands Ranch Mansion. The presentation begins at 7 p.m. There will be a cash bar with beer, wine and a specialty cocktail called the Sassy Springer. The sparkling wine-based cocktail is named after Isabelle Springer, who played a prominent role in the history of both the mansion and the Brown Palace.
Tickets are on sale now for $20, which include appetizers. Learn more or purchase tickets by calling 303-791-0177.
