Let’s set the record straight. Rumors are flying about Elbert County concerning the status of both the Simla and Kiowa road and bridge departments.

Fact is: The Republican candidates for county commissioner will keep both the Simla and Kiowa road and bridge departments intact and autonomous.

Fact is: The Republican candidates have no intention of closing or moving either Kiowa or Simla road and bridge departments.

Elbert County encompasses 1,854 square miles. With today’s cost of fuel, this reinforces the need for two separate road and bridge departments, serving our citizens, our employees and the east and west portions of Elbert County.

Now let’s put these misconceptions to rest for once and for all. For more information, please visit our Web site at schwab4commissioner.com.
