To the Elbert County BOCC:
Regarding the recent chip seal to County Road 17 coming south
out of Elizabeth toward Elbert. What a waste of valuable taxpayer
money yet again. It is only effective if the road is fixed
correctly before laying. The work was done the week of Sept. 8 and
that weekend Sept. 13 to be exact. It was already beginning to
corrode, and will be undrivable before long.
The money and time could have been used for the small stretch of
road in the Town of Elbert leading to the school and public library
which I have complained about countless times to Mr. John Metlie.
That road is heavily traveled by both car and pedestrian and is a
danger to those accessing the school and public library. Or perhaps
to put in an actual path, making the signs us put in stating
pedestrians use path required.
Come on. Let’s try to use our heads a little. Don’t just waste
our money during your last months in office. If that is the case,
please just sit back, relax and save what might be left of money
for road and bridge projects, so all the money wasted is your
paychecks.
