Man charged in Brighton kidnapping


A 51-year-old man faces an aggravated motor vehicle theft charge after an incident in Brighton earlier this month.

Raul Ortega also faces a count of second-degree kidnapping, aggravated motor vehicle theft and child abuse.  His next court appearance is at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, in Adams County District Court.

Authorities said Ortega stole a car with a child inside,  A second child managed to escape.
