Lee Ross Orr, 89, of Silverthorne, formerly of Franktown, died
July 18, 2007, in Aurora. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m.
Aug. 5, at the Franktown Fire Department.
Orr was born Sept. 14, 1917, in Denver. He was the son of
William and Edna (Putnam) Orr. He worked for Douglas County for
years as a heavy-equipment operator.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and being in the great
outdoors. There wasn't an engine or motor he couldn't fix. He was a
great carpenter.
He was a member of the Pikes Peak Grange for many years. He was
a volunteer firefighter and fire chief in 1965. He served for more
than 20 years for the Franktown Fire Department.
He and Betty Wilky were married Dec. 23, 1965, in
Englewood.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Orr, of Silverthorne; son Jack
(Cheryl) Orr of Franktown; son Craig (Cindy) Orr of Elizabeth;
daughter Patti (Allen) Bader of Elizabeth; stepdaughter Judy
Summers of Fort Morgan; stepson Ralph (Katherine) Griffith of
Commerce City; stepson Gary (Helen) Griffith of Dowling Park, Fla.;
sister Betty Walker of Denver; six grandchildren; and eight
great-grandchildren.
His son John Ross Orr and stepson Larry Griffith preceded him in
death.
