Adoptees In Search provides technical search information and emotional support to searchers and educate the public about the adoptive experience. AIS is committed to working for the revision of laws and policies that withhold vital information from adult adoptees and birth families. We meet from 7-8:30 p.m. the second Monday of every month except in December in room 137, Parker United Methodist Church, 11805 S. Pine Drive, Parker. Contact Maggi Pritchard at 303-898-8164.

Elbert County Pro Se Divorce and Post-Decree Clinic is from 9 a.m. to noon the third Friday of every month at the "Old Courthouse" in Kiowa, in the BOCC conference room on the second floor. The free Elbert County Pro Se Clinic is staffed by licensed attorneys knowledgeable about Colorado Family Law. The clinic is informational only, and the attorneys will not provide legal advice or offer interpretation of the law as it applies to your case. The attorneys will assist you in completing paperwork, and explaining the divorce and post-decree procedures, but they will not necessarily be able to answer questions specific to the facts of your individual case.

The County Posse, formerly the Elbert County Sheriff’s Posse, is a nonprofit community service organization serving the residents of Elbert County and law enforcement. Meetings are at 7 p.m. the last Monday of each month at Elizabeth High School. Meetings are open to the public. Membership is free. Contact Dave Peontek 303-646-5456 or go to www.countyposse.org.

The Kiowa Library is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.

The Elizabeth Library is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.

The Simla Library is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.

Elbert School Branch Library is onpen 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays and Saturdays and,4:30-7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
