Plans for contemplative community linked to Benet Hill Monastery

Posted by

The Sisters of Benet Hill Monastery will share their proposed plan to build a compact contemplative community of modest sized dwellings on about five to six of the adjoining fifty-acre parcel immediately adjacent to the south boundary of the present Monastery that they acquired last year. The proposed homes will be owner occupied homes for benefactors, friends and family of the Sisters who have expressed an interest in living in community with them. This proposed small community will be well screened by the existing forest vegetation and large setbacks from all property lines. This meeting is your opportunity to have your questions answered about the Sister’s proposed project.

In addition to the Sisters at Benet Hill Monastery, in attendance will be representatives from El Paso County Planning and Community Development Department, Consulting Civil Engineers to this proposed project - MVE, Inc, The Chief and Assistant Fire Chiefs of the Wescott Fire Protection District, and Water Attorneys from Monson, Cummins & Shohet, LLC. who are on retainer for this project.

In consideration of our planning for sufficient space for the meeting, it would be helpful if you email or phone the contact named below with your intention to attend. All neighbors and interested area residents are invited and welcome to attend!

*Regrettably, we do not have sufficient resources to accommodate child care. Thank you in advance for planning accordingly.
