Applications and fact sheets have been delivered to high school counselors in Elizabeth, Elbert, Kiowa and Parker for a $500 scholarship to be awarded in March 2009 by Smoky Hill Trail Chapter, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Home-schooled students are also eligible for this scholarship to be awarded to a graduating senior who has been accepted at an institution of higher learning. Tom Carroll, a student at Kiowa High School, has earned AP Scholar Award in recognition of his exceptional achievement on AP Exams. At Kiowa High School, 2008 graduate Carroll qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP Exams with grades of 3 or higher.
