Arnold "Ted" Guttormsen died peacefully in his sleep Tuesday,
July 6, 2010 at 5:45 am at his home in Kiowa, Colorado. Born June
22, 1921 in Kiowa, Ted was the son of John Guttormsen and Gunda
Tonneson Guttormsen. He was preceded in death by his parents and by
his older sister Anna Guttormsen Scott. He leaves to mourn him one
sister, Gladys Guttormsen Bachmann; three nieces, Flora Ann
Schriner, Kathy Mordeaux, and Patti Saltzman, and many others whose
lives he touched with his quiet compassion. A farmer and rancher
all his life, Ted never stopped loving the land and animals that
were so much a part of his life. To the end of his days, he loved
to sit on the front porch and feel the breeze in the cottonwoods
and listen to the birds sing. They sing for him now.
Services for Ted will be Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 10 am at
Kiowa Creek Community Church in Kiowa, Colorado with Internment
following at the Elizabeth Cemetery. The body will be available for
viewing at the Andrews, Caldwell, Gibson Funeral Home in Castle
Rock, CO from 4-7 Monday July 12, 2010. Memorials may be sent to
Kiowa Creek Community Church, Kiowa, Colorado.
